Project Description

The Oakhurst Midtown Connector project includes construction of a new, two-lane road connecting State Route 41 with Indian Springs Road to create a secondary access route improving circulation for daily traffic to/from the school road corridor and providing for a secondary evacuation route in the event of emergency. The new route will also provide better emergency response access to the school road corridor.

The project includes construction of a new 365 foot bridge over Nelder Creek and approximately 2,100 feet of new roadway with 12-foot wide travel lanes, shoulders, and complete streets elements including bike lanes and sidewalks. The project also includes intersection improvements at SR 41 and Midtown Connector consisting of a new traffic signal and widening of SR 41 from two to four travel lanes for a distance of 1,742 feet, and also improvements at the intersection of Road 427 (School
Road) and Indian Springs Road to install a three-way signal and left turn lanes.

The total project cost was approximately $19 million and is funded by Local Measure T Transportation Sales Tax funds and SB-1 Local Partnership Program (Competitive) funds.

**Note: this project is scheduled to be fully complete and opened in mid-February. More photos of the fully completed project can be provided at that time.
